Based in Chicago, Jack Austin is a music journalist and radio host dedicated to blues and American roots music. A contributor to Blues Blast Magazine and American Blues Scene, Jack explores the intersection of musical lineage and the working artists who keep traditions alive.

As the co-founder of Crossroads Chicago Radio and host of Electric Chicken (with roots at Berkeley’s KALX), his programming is famously eclectic. While the blues remains his North Star, his sets bridge soul, jazz, punk, and Latin rhythms, tracing the music’s evolution from the Delta to the global stage. A poet and "bad guitar player," Jack views the blues as a living culture, focusing his work on the rhythms and communities that drive its constant mutation.
